Welcome to The Bunkhouse Motel! We’re thrilled to welcome you to our beautiful community in northwest Iowa.
Whether you’re staying for one evening or planning a longer visit in Cherokee and the surrounding area, we’ve got you covered! Single rooms are $75 per night (plus tax) while our double rooms are available for $90.

The bunkhouse is located along U.S. Highway 59 at 768 N. 2nd St. We're close to Cherokee's historic downtown business district, along with many restaurants, businesses, trails, and other amenities.

Every room at The Bunkhouse has been remodeled since Isaac and Christina Cruz purchased the motel in October 2024, ensuring all of our guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

What You'll Find
In addition to our newly remodeled and furnished rooms, we have vending and ice machines, and a storm shelter available at The Bunkhouse.
Our parking lot is also monitored 24 hours a day with a security system.
COMING SOON: We're making progress on a second-story vacation rental at the motel that will be able to accommodate up to six guests. We expect this to be available by next fall.


Enjoy Our Community
From the annual Cherokee PRCA Rodeo to casting a line in the Little Sioux River, there’s no shortage of attractions and activities in our community.
The CRMC Cherokee Fitness Center is great for families and individuals of all ages. The facility includes an indoor pool, fitness equipment, gymnasium, racquetball courts, indoor walking/jogging track, and interactive game area.
The Bacon Aquatic Center is located at Gillette Park and features a zero-entry pool with children’s features, a splash pad, water slides, and diving boards.
The Cherokee Trails System offers more than nine miles of continuous trails within the city. Also be sure to visit Koser Spring Lake Park, which boasts camping, an asphalt walking trail, and fishing.
Cherokee County is also home to more than 1,000 acres of land devoted to public parks.
